Godfrey Residence Lafayette, CA Huettl-Thuilot Associates,  Stefan Thuilot_Co-Designer Fences, thick junipers and an inappropriate fir tree were removed from this garden to establish a link to the adjacent open space. Old decking and concrete were replaced with a new patio, deck and retaining walls allowing for dining and entertaining right at the base of the natural rolling terrain. The new plant palette of native and Mediterranean grasses and perennials now provides a near-seamless transition to the grassy hills above. This garden won an “Award of Excellence” in the 2002/2003 Sunset Western Garden Design Awards competition.
